Parks
For strolling and jogging.
Hamburg is a very „green“ city with tradition. You can for example, visit the „Planten and Bloomen“ park, whose origin goes back to the year 1820 and discover the beautiful plants and flowers within an area of about 47 acres. Maybe you would like to discover the fascinating animal-world at the Hagenbeck Zoo, first mentioned historically in 1866 and being the first zoo without cages, setting a standard world-wide.
You can find more stimulation for a relaxed walk through Hamburg´s Park landscapes or along the banks of the rivers Elbe or Alster here.
For exercise lovers we recommend a run along the 2 or 5 km route through the nearby Recreation- park Niendorfer Gehege.
